Meat Roll-up Toddler Lunch

Here is a lunch I made for Helen.  It consisted of one meat roll (one piece of deli sliced turkey breast smeared with mustard, a tiny bit of cream cheese, and parsley, then rolled up), 3 slices turkey pepperoni, 2 strips of Swiss cheese, frozen blueberries, and flat bread cut into wedges.

Helen thought it was great!

Baby Bibs - DONE!

I started these bibs two and a half years ago, when my oldest was just starting solid foods. I'll just sum it up by saying they sat in the closet for a long time. I finished them up a few weeks ago. These are the kind of bibs we had for my sister growing up. They work for little babies clear on up through toddlers. And the cover everything, not just the shirt collar.

I simply took kitchen and bath towels. Cut a circle in around where the neck should go (I used a bowl to cut an even circle). Lined it all with bias tape, made button holes, and sewed on buttons.
I made a lot...but it did take me nearly 3 years.

Robins

Last Friday before I took off to Jake's parents' cabin, I quickly shot a few picture of our new birds out front.  The mama bird was not happy with me doing this.  She kept darting back toward the door.  We have given her more privacy.  Three of the eggs had hatched and the other two hatched over the weekend.
Today again I snapped a picture.  They have changed so much.  But still you can barely tell they are birds.  Sorry you can't tell what parts are what beyond the feathers.  They are all crowded in there staying warm and I had to be quick about getting a picture.  I wish their little heads would poke up, but I guess I am going to have to leave my mom up to taking a picture of that as I am leaving tomorrow.
p.s. Thanks, Grandma Benson, for being patient with my updating the blog.  I know you have wanted to see these pictures really bad.

Thank You, Abbey!

My friend had a great give-a-way on her blog.  And I won!  I received my package in the mail last week, hours before my girls came down with 100+ fevers.  So between all of the caring for them, and being on "vacation" at my parents' home, I hadn't had much time to enjoy having something new.  I did manage to take a few pictures last week when I had planned to blog about it.  But as anyone who reads my blog knows, I haven't been blogging up a storm lately.  By the end of the night I am exhausted from taking care and loving my girls.  As I crash into bed, I quickly chat with my beloved hubby who is usually just going to lunch in his day.  The nights have been rough lately with the girls too, but are getting somewhat better.  They are also feeling much better.

Back to the matter at hand.  Thank you, Abbey, for the darling apron!  To everyone else,  go check out her blog...she does many crafty things.
