Produce Co-op Parts 1, 2, & 3

Jake and I joined a produce co-op this summer. It has been grrrreat! At first it was in the city just through the canyon, but now they have started 3 sites in the valley.

Here's the low-down for anyone interested (you should really do it):
  • It is every other week.
  • It costs $18 dollars the first week & $15 from then after.
  • There is no commitment to buy every week.
  • You have to buy your basket online between Tues. morning and Wed. night.
  • The produce is fresh and good quality.
  • You get a laundry basket full of produce!!
  • You do not know what is going to be in the basket, but it is usually equal parts veggies and fruit.
  • There are "extras" you can buy for a little more money- cases of produce for canning, loaves of bread (artisan), and specialty packs (Italian, Mexican, Tropical Fruit).
  • For those of you not in the valley I live in, they have stops through out the state. And if you don't live in my state, look for a produce co-op in your area - they are great.
