hello. Today is one of those days that I wish I could just take it easy and sip warm hot chocolate in a really warm apartment and just watch a good movie or the food network. But alas I have had so much to do today - trying to catch up on homework. I feel like I am reinventing the wheel - the same one I re-invented as a freshman in college. I feel like by the time I am done I will have no interest in my major. I just keep going because it will disappoint my husband, parents, and parents-in-law if I don't. That and everyone has contributed a lot of money for my education. I think finishing will be just as anti-climatic or maybe more as when graduated. Hopefully not.

: 0 )

I was just checking in on the blog. Had to make a few changes. And thought that while I was here I should write a small blog. I finished one of my rotations - yippee! So I have a few days off to catch up on home stuff. Its nice to have a clean home again. I am super duper hungry and so I am going to go make breakfast.

Just another Monday

Hello everyone,
I was just checking the blog - hasn't been much to say lately because life is pretty much in routine now. The recipe blog wasn't working - hoped it would but wasn't - I just don't get around to typing on it too often, but I left my own blog up so that you could get to my links. I am trying to keep from being bored today - working on cleaning out some of my stuff and making a new salvation army donation box. This picture was taken at the Strawberry Festival in Watsonville. Talk to you alls later.
Hello -
It is an overcast day here. I sure do hope for some sunshine soon. I am going to make stroganoff tonight for dinner...and some vegetables. Better finish the project I am on so I can start dinner soon.

The Owl Wing has left the building...

...and Jake and I are relieved. Our upstairs neighbor moved out this week. And she took her owl wing with her. Yes she had an owl wing (just the wing with connective parts) hanging in her front window. It was kinda freaky, ok not kinda - just freaky. And one time in the hours before dawn as Jake was headed out to PT he looked up and there was a perfect siloutte of a black cat in the window with it. Jake said he just gasped and drove out of the parking lot as quickly as possible - hoping there wasn't a curse put on the car so it wouldn't go. All in all nothing serious ever happened, but we waited in aticipation once we knew she was moving as to when it would come down (which happend to be the very last day). It must have had protective abilities for her. This is important to keep record of so I thought I would compose a blog on it.

Down another rung...

This morning Jake termed our car as being "down another rung on the ladder of coolness". We have been trying to get the car fixed up - gradually. But yesterday we lost the hubcap. I had hit it the other day on a curb - not very hard as I wasn't going very fast, but it cracked the hubcap any how. It has been making a funny sound as the wheels turn. Jake noticed this morning that it was gone completely. One more thing to add to the list. LOL, silly car.

Guess what we had for dinner...

Saturday night Jake and I went out for some dinner. We went to Sakura - this Japanese "hole-in-the-wall" place that some friends referred us to. They said that the sushi there was good tasting and safe, but still within pocketbook reason.

So I ordered two types of sushi (rice rolls) maki style (we learned that this just means it is cut up). One was oshiko pickled yellow radish sushi and the other was a California Roll #1 shrimp, avocado, & flying fish roe. We weren't quite sure what roe was, but after reading the different kinds (flying fish roe, smelt roe, salmon roe) on the menu I was pretty certain it was fish eggs. And it was. Very tiny orange fish eggs.

Jake ordered a sashimi dish (raw fish) of Hamachi yellowtail . It was really good - at least it was my favorite of all that we ordered. He also order a sushi dish of Sakura Special #2 avocado roll with eel on top. Cooked eel is really mushy. We also got potstickers - which are my favorite Asian food. Oh and hot chocolates - served in chilled Budweiser mugs. It was an experience. We had fun though. Then we went and got ice cream at Baskin Robins to celebrate National Vanilla Ice Cream Day - although neither of us got vanilla.

Well, the fog just keeps rolling in thicker and thicker this morning - guess I should go put something warmer on - I thought it was going to be a warm day.

Hi everyone!
Jake and I have been working on this site this morning. We created it last night, but are still learning the how to. So this is my first attempt at posting a blog. You'll have to let us know what you think of our site. We will be able to post pictures and stuff. Guess I'll talk to you all later.
